Saught Pursuing Peace Bangle

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

saught_pursuing-peace-bangleYes, Saught’s Pursuing Peace Bangle does look kinda cheesy at first glance, but once you understand the backstory of its origin and what it’s made of, you’ll hopefully be moved, which was exactly how I felt when I was introduced to brand.

Saught obtains scrap metal supplied by international and Cambodian de-mining organisations, usually landmines and unexploded ordnance which are then worked on by artisans working in Cambodian NGO partner workshops. The artisans get a regular income, with profits re-invested into these countries and aiding their development efforts. In other words, it’s all for a really good cause.

Dainty, elegant and definitely wearable, Saught’s jewellery comprise of 3 distinct collections, each with rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces that retail from justSGD79.90 and up, which in my books also means they’ll make really meaningful gifts to loved ones and friends that are also affordable.

Check them out here, or look out for them at the upcoming Blueprint Emporium (18 and 19 May 2013) at The Pit Building, where selected pieces will be on sale to the public. Beautiful pieces, at a good price, for a great cause. Need I really say more?

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One High Jewelry a shiny timepiece for the ladies

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

LeCoultre Reverso (4)

Jaeger-LeCoultre has unveiled a reincarnation of its 1931 Reverso model of watches which was at the time considered an icon in watch-making. The Reverso One High Jewelry comes studded with a bevy of baguette-cut diamonds, protecting a mother-of-pearl dial. The beauty of the watch is its Duetto concept offers a different display on the back – a deep black aventurine dial with diamonds outlining the hour and minutes indicator. This “back-to-back” dial offers the watch a mysterious appeal and a dual personality.
LeCoultre Reverso (2)
The Reverso was created by French designer René-Alfred Chauvot on the request on a contract with Jaeger SA, who was contacted by Jacques-David LeCoultre, the then owner of the LeCoultre manufacture to provide the “movements of a new watch”. LeCoultre received this request from Swiss businessman and watch collector César de Trey who was challenged by a British army officer based in India to “create a watch model robust enough to resist to a polo match.” So what eventually started as a project to prove worth ended up being a revolutionary fashion statement. At the time, in the 30s, the Reverso with its unique flip and slip movement became a raging hit.

Tiffany & Co. Tiffany Harmony Collection

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

tiffany_co_tiffany-harmony-collection1Because we all know how women are genetically wired to trinkets and baubles that come in those delicate robin egg blue boxes, this collection from American jeweller Tiffany & Co. should elicit squeals of delight as soon as one sets their eyes on it.

Called the Tiffany Harmony collection, it’s a new offering that’s made up of engagement rings and wedding bands, and more interestingly, the wedding bands (which are cast in platinum) follow the same contours as the engagement ring, which a) makes them perfectly matchy-matchy for the couple in love, and b) stylish enough (without the frills) for a man to carry off.

tiffany_co_tiffany-harmony-collection2And if you must know, prices for the collection start at SGD1800 for the platinum wedding band, with everything else price-on-application as soon as you decide on the design, and of course, the size of your rock.

Now squeal. In delight, of course.

Cartier Love Ring In Ceramic, Diamonds & Gold

Categories:Jewelry & Watches

cartier_love-ring-ceramic-diamonds-goldAlready an icon in its own right, writing most anything about Cartier’s Love collection would be pointless since it’s already loved and adored by one and all. But because this post concerns Cartier’s new Love ring in ceramic, diamonds and gold, I thought it apt to run it here.

Recently released in Singapore and already garnering fans of its own, what’s most special about the new rings is the fact that they can be worn together or separately. Yes, you guessed it, the ring is actually comprised of 3 individual pieces, and as the name suggests, one band in the gold of your choice (pink, or white gold), another band in ceramic (black, or brown ceramic) and lastly, a third band in gold that’s also set with sparkling diamonds.

Priced at SGD7150 and SGD7600 (the one in white gold is a tad pricier), it’s like getting 3 rings for the price of one. Or one ring that actually comes apart and makes 3. Seriously, I’m delirious, so please excuse me while I go fan myself.

cartier_love-bracelet-rose-gold-diamondsFor those of you who like me, feel that such delicate rings just don’t sit pretty enough on your fingers, you could consider the Cartier Love Bracelet in pink gold and set with diamonds. Priced at SGD18,500 for a total of 10 diamonds encircling the circumference of the bracelet, the icing on the cake is probably the fact that it comes with its very own solid gold screwdriver that you’ll need to put on or take off the bracelet.

Personally, I’ll be content with the plain yellow gold one (sans diamonds, of course) that sells for SGD7740, but that’s just me. What are you eyeing next from Cartier?
